This is a studio work inspired by one of my favourite places in New Zealand.
Glenorchy is a small town located on the far end of lake Wakatipu in the south Island. This is the view looking towards the west coast. On a clear day like the day this painting portrays the air is still and cool and the light glints of the water at you as if its calling you to come and dip a toe. This place is full of possibilities with international renown waling tracks, fishing, hunting and even painting.
This is a classic New Zealand landscape exhibiting the power of the mountains and reach of the rivers.
The painting goes around the edges of the stretcher bars so there is no need for a frame, but adding frame will help contain the eye in the painting and just add more impact.
Size: 1835 mm by 835 mm by 40 mm
